Dive Into Balinese Cuisine at the Amala’s Cooking Class

Balinese cuisine is well-known for using a variety of spices blended with fresh vegetables, meat, fish, and a wide range of seafood, presenting an indigenous tradition. Bali's natural beauty of greenery and terraced rice fields allows residents to grow their crops and kitchen spices to be then sold within the island, from local to local.

The Amala offers an exceptional experience to learn more about the Balinese cooking culture and serve traditional dishes. This cooking class in Seminyak is one thing you wouldn't want to miss during your stay in Bali.

A cooking class session at The Amala starts with an optional transport service from your accommodation. You will then be invited, optionally, on tour to one of the traditional markets and introduced to the different herbs, spices, and ingredients used for cooking your preferred set menu of Balinese dishes. Once arriving at The Amala, you will be greeted by our Head Chefs Putu and Parwata at the spacious semi-open kitchen located adjacent to the resort's main pool. The skilled Chefs will guide you through the cooking class with a hands-on (learning by doing) method.

Each cooking class session will take from 1,5 to 2 hours and is available daily for both the public and in-house guests staying at The Amala & The Amala Estate; invite your friends and family, or book a private group session just for you. To complement the experience, participants will learn to prepare, cook, plate and enjoy each dish they've made at the Bamboo Restaurant with a tranquil garden view by the resort’s main pool, ready to be enjoyed for a dip after your class!
